Brad Walters is an international award winning wedding photographer traveling to gorgeous locations like Antigua photographing his client's destination weddings.

Antigua and Barbuda are known as “the heart of the Caribbean” because of its central location in the Caribbean. An Antigua destination wedding could be considered a good choice for the adventurous. The tourist industry is not as developed as other islands, and so the destination wedding is smaller than other islands as well, so a bit of ingenuity could come in handy if you and your future spouse are the sight-seeing type. For example, it is worth noting that there are no street signs in Antigua, so landmarks are obviously the preferred means of navigation. Yeah, you could rent a taxi, but where’s the fun it that?

Temperatures range from the 70s to the 80s year round, with an almost constant soothing breeze from the trade winds making Antigua destination weddings a comfortable experience. The weather also makes the job of a photographer easier, as photographers tend to prefer a drier climate for their gear. You can even get married in a local chruch, but be sure they allow your destination weddings photographer. A very large number of white and pink sand beaches surround the island that the locals like to claim totals 365, which they say is one for every day of the year. Antigua does have luxury spas, fine dining, and just about every other amenity most other islands have.

Weddings on Antigua can be as low-key, or as high-end as you please. Great places to have destination weddings include the Engilsh Harbor, St. John's and Barbuda. Weddings on Barbuda will offer seclusion that is unparalleled, as it is largely undeveloped. Many weddings on Antigua are characterized by steel bands and reggae music.

Among the best resorts in Antigua, that also offer Antigua destination weddings, include the Galley Bay Resort and Spa, the Curtain Bluff and the St. James's Club. If you're looking for something a bit more relaxed and low key, check out the Coconut Beach Club. Many of these Antigua Resorts offer complimentary destination wedding packages with a certain number of nights booked, and most of them will not restrict non-native destination wedding photographers.

All in all, Antigua is an island for the adventurous wedding couple and photographer, with a rich history waiting to be discovered by its visitors.

As with many destination weddings locations, there could be a number of resorts in Antigua that do not allow destination weddings photographers, and some may insist you use their photographer so be sure to choose a resort that allows a destination weddings photographer for your Antigua destination wedding. Contact our studio to be sure your venue is accommodating to destination wedding photographers. Utilizing the hotel wedding photographer as your Antigua destination wedding photographer is highly discouraged, as often these employees are not trained destination wedding photographers.

A list of commonly known resorts that cater to destination weddings, but also disallow or actually charge high fees for allowing destination wedding photographers to serve their clients, include the Sandals Resorts (all locations), Breezes (all locations), Rooms On The Beach Resorts (all locations), Couples Resorts (all locations), Starfish Resorts (all locations), Grand Lido Resorts (all locations), Rose Hall (Jamaica) and the Fern Tree Spa at Half Moon (Jamaica) (The Fern Tree is the same Company as Rose Hall).
